Pied a terre

I love our apartment. It is charming times ten and it's been lovely to have a place for us all to hang out that is very un-hotel like.

I've always coveted a red kitchen. And for a week I have it. This teensy kitchen if filled with all the regular appliances but shrunk. I can't imagine cooking a thanksgiving dinner for ten or even three, but it is great for what we need on vacay.

The master bedroom is probably the most carefully painted room I've ever been in. Gray on dove gray with a beautiful antique mirror and adorable makeup table.

Darby's room has the pullout and is really the sitting room, although she hasn't let us fold up the bed cuz "it rocks!"

We are on the top floor and those four floors up are a workout. I can see why the French are so fit...dragging groceries everyday up those stairs. Yikes, no Costco here for a reason.

Little details...

Stained glass and red chandelier.

Rain shower in the bathroom.

Separate toilet. (Thank god!)

Heated towel bar, which I'm sure comes in handy in the winter?

Dream windows with shutters and no screens.

And, right downstairs from us a VERY industrious upholsterer. He begins work promptly at 7:30 with much banging, sawing and stapling. He closes shop at 3. It gives good morning music to our day.
