After a whole day in France, we needed to get out...hence a quick train trip to SanRemo, Italy. Really, Darby was hoping for an easy new country stamp in her passport The total trip by train is about 2 hours.
The view from the train is along the c'ote d'azure. Needless to say, it did not suck. Absolutely breathtaking views of tiny towns hanging over the Mediterranean. There were some HUGE yachts, as well. Most of the people got off in Monaco- we plan to hit it on Wednesday when Kevin is tied up in meetings.
The winding trip to the restaurant led us up stairs, down alleys and, I swear thru someone's living room. We got a bit lost, but we're better off for the adventure. We may have to buy a new memory card for Darby-she's already taken about 400 pics since we've landed.
The meal was amazing. Pizza with artichokes for Darby, pizza with prosciutto for Kev and gnocchi with campagniones for moi. A carafe of wine to finish it off.
After a less winding and much less interesting walk back, we hopped back on the train to Cannes. European trains got it goin' on. We were delayed for about 30 minutes (we have no idea why-couldn't understand the French) but they cranked up the air, which kept everyone calm. Love.
