When Kevin and I were on our honeymoon we hit Germany, Austria and Italy. That's a lot of churches. And, I'm sure most of you know, we're not the most religious of people. Needless to say, we saw a lot of churches and took a ton of beautiful pictures of ceilings, windows, flying buttresses, and such.
When we got home and looked at them all we couldn't remember which church was which, so we just told everyone, "oh, that was St. Michael's." Ever since then we've called each church that we see on vacay St. Michael's.
Here are our French versions of St. Michael's.
St. Michael's of Cannes.
St. Michael's of Monaco. Also known as the Chapel of Monaco. It's where Prince Albert got married recently.
Taken from the steps of St. Michael's of the mountain. AKA: The church in Chamonix. (I erased the pic of the church-oops.)
St. Michael's of Beaune. Aka: the Chapel of St. Anne.
St. Michael's of Volnay. Aka: the chapel of burgundy wine.
All three pics are of St. Michael's of Paris. Part 1. Really it's Saint Chapelle. It has been my favorite church that we've seen. Small, with beautiful windows. It was built in only eight years.
St. Michael's of Paris, part 2. Aka: Norte Dame. Wasn't impressed. At all.
St. Michael's of Montmartre. Aka: Sacre Couer. Beautiful.
St. Michael's of Versailles. Aka: The chapel in the palais at Versailles.
That's enough St. Michael's for everyone, especially the Lynches. We probably don't have to go to church for ten years now.
